Overall the stay was good, and the property has its charms. You will get your steps in for the day going up and down the stairway(s). Good value and lots of space.Had an issue with the dishwasher not working. Water had backed up from previous user, and nobody checked it. This resulted in a moldy and stinky concoction growing in the bottom of the dishwasher. Contacted host that morning by text and VRBO platform. No response from host until several days later after we checked out. I had to send a second email before he responded to my message. He apologized.

The thermostat was broke and would not heat -above 53 degrees Fahrenheit. Luckily there were two space heaters in the apt (which kind of makes me think the owner know this) we shut bedroom door and turned on the space heaters when we got to room. It never warmed up. The keypad was frozen when we left this morning and I sent messages to owner early this morning. He has still not responded to me. It was way too cold to enjoy. There are stains on the furniture and mouse trap in upstairs living room. I do NOT recommend staying at this place to anyone.

Could have hung meat!!
Checked in at 530pm and the temperature was in the teens. We followed the signs to our room and tried the lock code, it did not work and we had to call the host. Come to find out the signs were wrong. So we were guided to the correct entrance and gained access to our rental. We enter the the property and the interior was chilly, so we turned the heat up. We expected the heater to warm things up, but it never did. The temperature actually went down and by the time we got up the next day the room temperature was down to 61. We decided tobleave and go somewhere warmer, our vehicle, at 7am. The other thing that we noticed was cleanliness of the place. The carpet was dirty and stained. The dust in all the rooms looked like it hadn't been touched in .we do not recommend a stay at this ppace.months

This property failed to live up to its advertising. It was extremely dirty in many places, ie the carpet in the living area, the stairs, the stained chairs and more. There were many missing lights - two of six lights worked in the downstairs bathroom. Three lightbulbs out in the upstairs bathroom. There was no soap in either of the shower dispensers. We had to buy soap to shower. There was no dishwasher detergent. There was peeling paint outside and inside in one bathroom. I could go on, but won’t use this location again. For the money, we should have stayed at a motel!

Really cool place to stay
The condo is very spacious, with plenty of beds. There are some really cool historic features in the building. Great location. And the host, John, was very helpful.
Good to know
